Ever heard the expression “charity begins at home?” These founders of charitable organizations took it one step further and actually started charities from their homes!
Free the Girls is a nonprofit organization providing job opportunities to women rescued from sex trafficking. At Free The Girls® they have a dream that the world can change. A dream to end slavery. They want you to dream with them, women, you can donate your used bras and they will give a job to a former victim of human trafficking selling those bras in Africa.
Used clothing is a profitable market in many countries around the world. Bras are usually sought after items. Some of the girls in our program are making 5x the minimum wage in their community by selling bras! Get involved like them on Facebook!
Denver Gives promotes charitable giving to small local nonprofits! They promote volunteerism and raise awareness for small local nonprofits through monthly events. Denver Gives is a membership organization their $25/year membership pays for operating costs and 100% of the money they raise at events goes to free educational and consulting services they offer local nonprofits under $500,000 annual budget. There are over 19,000 charities in Colorado. Over 80% are small and locally based. They want you to help them succeed as they are most likely the ones on the ground providing services directly to those that need it most! Support their beer booth at Peoples Fair!
